B.B. Kings Blues Club in Memphis

image

For those who have never been to Memphis’s Beale street, you’re missing out on some of the best BBQ nachos that I personally have ever tasted. When you walk in to B.B. Kings Blues Club the first thing that hits you is blues history. The pictures of musicians past and sounds of chatter from the street and bar are as intoxicating as the smell of the BBQ that makes your mouth water instantly. The decor is dimly but invitingly lit and carved woodwork makes up the seating in the entire restaurant. Of course, it is Beale street and you can get alcoholic beverages served in a signature B.B. King Club glass. The names of the drinks behind the bar make you want to go in for a Motown Margarita. The best thing about the club (besides the nachos) is the awesome wait staff. They take care of you so well and our server had a wonderful attitude. All in all it was a great experience and I recommend getting to Memphis ASAP to get you some good B.B. Kings Club BBQ!

The Etsy Website

image

I have blogged about Etsy users and shop owners before, but this time I reached out to Etsy themselves, and they responded in no time. When they told me I could write this feature I was so excited! So I had to find out what I could about who founded the site, and who they really are. What I found is that most of Etsy’s shop owners are women, (not surprising), what is surprising is that the founder is a man, Robert Kalin, and he actually uses the site! He purchases a lot of clothing and furniture online and loves to browse the shops. In an interview with Michael Arrington he stated that “most” of what he was wearing during that interview came from Etsy. You can read the entire interview and watch the video here : http://techcrunch.com/2009/02/01/davos-interviews-etsy-founder-robert-kalin/ . The site also has “featured” shops that are doing very with their handmade items. You can see the featured shops here : https://blog.etsy.com/en/tags/featured-shop/?ref=fp_featured_more . Another great thing about Etsy are the editors picks, they really are some amazing finds that you can’t get anywhere else. You can view the editors picks here : https://blog.etsy.com/en/tags/editors-picks/ . I absolutely love this site and will always use it, its such a wonderful thing to have a global community of people who are passionate about what they do, and I am so glad they do it. Thanks Etsy.com for bringing smiles and shopping into the lives of women around the world!

Here is what you can find on Etsy!

Twitter is a Social media site with a worldwide span of users and huge celebrity influence. (Basically if younhavent heard of Twitter, you’ve been living in a cave.) Twitter has some great uses thou, especially for businesses and cooperations that want to expand or band and musicians that crave being heard. The problem is getting staerted, or gaining “followers” on Twitter can take quite a while, that where this guy comes in, @RVWKITT (Twitter name/handle), he can help you gain followers with his “follow train” a series of “retweets” that helps people know that you need followers and that you will follow em back. By retweeting one of his messages you can go from 100 followers to 800 easily in a single night, and have access to people from all corners of the globe! Just a great example of people helping people in a way that speaks volumes. Admit turns out this user is also a musician and entrepreneur and you can find him on Facebook as well : https://m.facebook.com/HiimRVWKitt?_rdr where you check out some of the freestyle music he has put on soundcloud. How awesome is it to know that you can go from having zero people know about to hundreds in just minutes? And it’s all thanks to people like him, so thanks @RWVKITT for helping the little people.

For the Artsy

Looking through my twitter feed I happened across an amazing digital artist, David Bridburg (@davidbridburg). I was looking through his website: http://www.bridburg.com and he explains that he uses Photoshop to “shape, shade, and configure several images into artwork”. And he does an amazing job! So I got in touch with him and found out about http://fineartamerica.com a website that allows artists to sell their artwork and prints, and the site is crazy easy to navigate. Most of the prints I saw featured to purchase were also inexpensive which is a huge plus, most were under $20!
So of course after I found out about David I had to share, digital artistry is far too under rated, though it is proving itself to be the art of this generation. I really love David’s website, as well as fine art america, both prove to be worth the look around….hint hint readers, get on the web and get browsing because you can find some incredible artwork.

A Cut Above the Rest

Queen City Knives from Clarksville Tn, has recently had their project successfully funded on Kickstarter.com. Established in 2013 this unique business is run by a small town couple, who have been working from a small workshop building to get their idea off the ground. They use repurposed steel to create amazing knives for chef’s and avid huntsmen. They got the Kickstarter up and running to help them expand and be able to provide more business such as online orders. While they are not able to process any orders at this time ( due to handing out some great backer rewards on Kickstarter); they do have a website to browse and ways to contact them for future orders. They are definitely a company to watch and I look forward to them growing larger. Check them out and send them some supportive feedback! : http://queencityknives.bigcartel.com/ . or to take a look at their Kickstarter project click the link below.
