Want to get a peak at the hitter new girl in the comic world? Then head on over to : http://www.deadlycrimson.com/ where you can find Crimson, a deadly ex lab worker turned super being, and she is kicking some major comic villain butt. Her main antagonist is the big boss of the the lab who’s experimentation turned her into a superhuman. Crimson is a wife, mother, and vigilante who must face evil to save her family. Deadly Crimsons dead pan comedy teams well with its ability to make fun of the campiness that come with the comic book world.
The creators are Travis Cheney and Melissa LeEllen, he is a well known screen play writer, and she is a producer, entrepreneur, and has even acted along side Sandra Bullock. Combine them with G.David Cooper,a very talented illustrator, and you can’t lose! They are still trying to get the comic funded fully, but with or without funding I have no doubt that Deadly Crimson is going to do well for itself and stand up against other comics of its genre. It is drawn much like the Grand Theft Auto Games and it is automatically relatable and has a familiar feel looking through its pages. I have included more fabulous photos for you to view and if you want to help them get funded you can do so here : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/362191702/deadly-crimson?ref=discovery and don’t forget to check out Crimsons website!
Let’s go to Buxton, Maine where we can be right in the middle of Portland’s metropolis, and also where we can find artist Taryn Libby. She is a Maine native, and her beautiful art reflects that as she captures marine life on canvas in an extraordinary way. Taryn isn’t all sea though, she come up for air every now and then, and when she does amazing creations are born. Her use of color makes you have to take a second look. The boldness, brightness, and heavy lines give her art a life and light that radiates from inside the frame its kept in. So of course I had to share her beautiful work with my readers. The good news is that she has a Kickstarter page so that you can pop over for an even better look at her talent and get in touch with her. Here is your link to Taryn :
Here is more of Taryn Libby’s work:
New York has always been one of the biggest fashion hubs in America. They host fashion week every year, and there are always the trendiest people walking the buzzing city streets. Its easy for desires to gain inspiration just by looking out the windows of their studio apartments. So who is the next big designer? Who is setting trends and taking names? The answer is Susan Young… the creator of Launch, ready to wear fashions that she makes using her own textiles and designs. Her overall sale is iconic, relating to the 60′ and 70’s era in a way that also speaks to right now. Her creations are beautiful and she puts a lot of love into her work, stating that her fashion are a “mixture of art and fuction”. What’s new in Marrietta GA? A coffee shop that roasts in house and makes everything by hand. The owners are Luke and Ashley Hudek; Ashley took time out of her busy schedule to tell me a little about their new cafe. She says “We’re a geek cafe, we have events like Cosplay days, Newbie D&D, and Anime nights, among other things”. As busy as she has been she still has time to be an aspiring seamstress and semi active cosplayer herself. ( Luke even makes Cosplay props for the shops events ) It won’t be long until they own the hottest coffee shop in Georgia, with a fresh take on what a cafe should be and even fresher coffee I won’t be surprised if they stay for a while.
The shop has its own website here: http://www.mariettacoffee.com, and you can follow the coffee shop @coolhandscafe You’ll be happy to know they are geek and gamer friendly and even have there cool hands in music (Ashley plays drums and Luke plays the bass). Which means that they have more to offer such as custom orders for guitar pick-ups. How cool is that Jazz? So be sure to check them out, Good Luck Cool Hands Cafe hope you roast the competition and are here to stay!
For those who have never been to Memphis’s Beale street, you’re missing out on some of the best BBQ nachos that I personally have ever tasted. When you walk in to B.B. Kings Blues Club the first thing that hits you is blues history. The pictures of musicians past and sounds of chatter from the street and bar are as intoxicating as the smell of the BBQ that makes your mouth water instantly. The decor is dimly but invitingly lit and carved woodwork makes up the seating in the entire restaurant. Of course, it is Beale street and you can get alcoholic beverages served in a signature B.B. King Club glass. The names of the drinks behind the bar make you want to go in for a Motown Margarita. The best thing about the club (besides the nachos) is the awesome wait staff. They take care of you so well and our server had a wonderful attitude. All in all it was a great experience and I recommend getting to Memphis ASAP to get you some good B.B. Kings Club BBQ!

I have blogged about Etsy users and shop owners before, but this time I reached out to Etsy themselves, and they responded in no time. When they told me I could write this feature I was so excited! So I had to find out what I could about who founded the site, and who they really are. What I found is that most of Etsy’s shop owners are women, (not surprising), what is surprising is that the founder is a man, Robert Kalin, and he actually uses the site! He purchases a lot of clothing and furniture online and loves to browse the shops. In an interview with Michael Arrington he stated that “most” of what he was wearing during that interview came from Etsy. You can read the entire interview and watch the video here : http://techcrunch.com/2009/02/01/davos-interviews-etsy-founder-robert-kalin/ . The site also has “featured” shops that are doing very with their handmade items. You can see the featured shops here : https://blog.etsy.com/en/tags/featured-shop/?ref=fp_featured_more . Another great thing about Etsy are the editors picks, they really are some amazing finds that you can’t get anywhere else. You can view the editors picks here : https://blog.etsy.com/en/tags/editors-picks/ . I absolutely love this site and will always use it, its such a wonderful thing to have a global community of people who are passionate about what they do, and I am so glad they do it. Thanks Etsy.com for bringing smiles and shopping into the lives of women around the world!
Here is what you can find on Etsy!

Twitter is a Social media site with a worldwide span of users and huge celebrity influence. (Basically if younhavent heard of Twitter, you’ve been living in a cave.) Twitter has some great uses thou, especially for businesses and cooperations that want to expand or band and musicians that crave being heard. The problem is getting staerted, or gaining “followers” on Twitter can take quite a while, that where this guy comes in, @RVWKITT (Twitter name/handle), he can help you gain followers with his “follow train” a series of “retweets” that helps people know that you need followers and that you will follow em back. By retweeting one of his messages you can go from 100 followers to 800 easily in a single night, and have access to people from all corners of the globe! Just a great example of people helping people in a way that speaks volumes. Admit turns out this user is also a musician and entrepreneur and you can find him on Facebook as well : https://m.facebook.com/HiimRVWKitt?_rdr where you check out some of the freestyle music he has put on soundcloud. How awesome is it to know that you can go from having zero people know about to hundreds in just minutes? And it’s all thanks to people like him, so thanks @RWVKITT for helping the little people.
Looking through my twitter feed I happened across an amazing digital artist, David Bridburg (@davidbridburg). I was looking through his website: http://www.bridburg.com and he explains that he uses Photoshop to “shape, shade, and configure several images into artwork”. And he does an amazing job! So I got in touch with him and found out about http://fineartamerica.com a website that allows artists to sell their artwork and prints, and the site is crazy easy to navigate. Most of the prints I saw featured to purchase were also inexpensive which is a huge plus, most were under $20!
So of course after I found out about David I had to share, digital artistry is far too under rated, though it is proving itself to be the art of this generation. I really love David’s website, as well as fine art america, both prove to be worth the look around….hint hint readers, get on the web and get browsing because you can find some incredible artwork.
We changed our blog theme to make it easier to navigate our site. We hope the new theme is better for everyone, don’t forget to send us feedback. Right now we need page suggestions so send them in! Thanks for being awesome readers, you guys make it worth it!
